SCADA Developer

Hanley Energy are currently looking for a SCADA/HMI Application Engineer to join our team and play a significant role in project design, development and delivery for our multinational clients.  This is a permanent position with progression opportunities at both local and international level.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop SCADA/HMI applications tailored to client specifications.
  • Create and manage graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and tag databases.
  • Establish interfaces for seamless integration with industrial equipment.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and debugging for optimal system performance.
  • Provide ongoing support and prompt issue resolution for deployed systems.
  • Generate comprehensive project documentation, including design specs and user manuals.
  • Utilize SCAD software tools like IA Ignition and FactoryTalk View SE.
  • Implement scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python) for automation and enhancements.
  • Apply knowledge of industrial automation protocols for data exchange.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to meet project objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to SCADA development.
  • Participate in training and knowledge sharing to enhance team expertise.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software components for SCADA systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in SCADA development.
  • Proactively identify and address system vulnerabilities and security risks to safeguard data and operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience with IA Ignition and FactoryTalk View SE preferred.
  • Previous experience with scripting languages such as Java, Python.
  • Understanding of industrial automation protocols.
  • Ability to interpret Electrical and Networking diagrams and schematics.
  • Proven track record of achieving objectives and delivering value.
  • A strong work ethic with a clear focus on delivery and quality.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage own work.
  • Relevant 3rd level engineering qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with fluent English.
