Powerhive: a case study

Our latest print advertising campaign – launched in Built Environment Magazine – draws attention to the benefits of our PowerHive ‘micro data centre in a box’. It features a business case study which really demonstrates how PowerHive will save your company time and energy, cut costs, and make your IT environment more simple, adaptable, and manageable.

One of Ireland and the UK’s most renowned IT services companies had plans to build a bespoke server room. They budgeted for a dedicated space to be partitioned, secured, soundproofed and air-conditioned. The total project was budgeted in detail and expected to cost up to €22,500 in upfront infrastructure costs alone.

“Thanks to PowerHive, we’ve saved €15,950 in capital expenditure on server room build costs, and have calculated in excess of €19,500 of savings annually: €12,000 in reduced rent due to saved space which we will use for additional telesales operatives, and €7,500 due to reduced energy costs – which, incidentally, is equivalent to a saving of 27 tonnes of CO2. We were also able to save 15 weeks in installation time, compared to how long it would take to build a server room, so we were operational much quicker.”
